June 2, 2011: first day of the best trip.
Everything actually began back in November 2010, with an email from AIST (American International Sports Tours) inviting two UAH teammates and myself to represent the USA in a soccer tour across Italy. My roommate Cady and I were ecstatic. At the time I was impatient with it being 7 months away, but now it seems that a 16 hour one-way commute and what seemed like never-ending coach bus rides in between 11 of the best days of my life all went by too fast. I wish I could go back and do it all over again.
The team at JFK airport. College players from all over the country… we had the best time together. As our tour leader Gary put, “In my 12 years of doing these tours, only a few groups have bonded and meshed as well as you guys have.”
